Recently, I’ve felt a deepening appreciation for sunsets. Even more than my usual, which is a lot. There are never two quite the same. As was the case with the sun going down after exploring in the Applegate (a beautiful region in southern Oregon between Interstate 5 and the coast) a little over a month ago. The hills are steeper here and more wild-seeming, which made for a beautiful contrast to the soft purple, pink, orange and yellow hues of the sunset. Nearly all wind ceased right before the sun went down, and a little fog in the valley below drifted past. The mountains became colors of deep blue as they stretched into the distance.

This painting was created on 3/4” canvas. The piece arrives unframed. Shipping within the lower 48 states is absolutely free.
